Obituary of Jane L. Schubbe

Jane Louise Garlick Schubbe, 96, of Dolgeville, NY, passed away on February 7, 2025, in Brookdale Senior Living Facility in Woodbridge, Virginia, after suffering with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Little Falls, New York, on September 19, 1928, to Kenneth and Allie Garlick. She graduated from Dolgeville Central School. She graduated from SUNY at Potsdam’s Crane School of Music in 1950. She taught vocal music in Rochester, NY, and Little Falls until she was forced into retirement with chronic back issues. She was married to Donald Schubbe in 1950 and enjoyed many happy years of marriage until his passing in 2003. She enjoyed baking, genealogy, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and many other crafts. She was a member of the Dolgeville United Methodist Church and the Dolgeville Historical Society. She leaves behind her daughter, June (Andy) Marino of Woodbridge, VA. Her grandchildren are Cheryl (Eric) Clopper, Falls Church, VA, Kenneth Marino, Ocracoke, NC, and Patricia (Steve) Price of Canton, GA. She also has 4 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Lauren, Julia Clopper, and Annaleigh Price. She also leaves behind her niece, Alice Garlick of Queensbury, NY. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ward and Gordon Garlick. A Memorial Mass will be offered in Virginia at the family's convenience. The family wishes to thank Brookdale Senior Living Facility in Lake Ridge, Virginia, and Heartland Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Jane.

A Public graveside will take place on Thursday, May 15th, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Rural Park Cemetery, Ingham Mills, NY. All are welcome to attend.
