Obituary of Marilyn J. Rumrill
Marilyn J. Rumrill 1939-2005
Marilyn J. Rumrill peacefully passed away at her daughter’s home in Massillon, Ohio, where she was currently residing, on August 1, 2025, at the age of 86.
Marilyn was born February 25, 1939, in Cooperstown, New York, to Albert and Shirley Keeler. She was the eldest child of her siblings, Beatrice and Roger. Later in life, she found she had an older sister, Joan.
Before moving to Ohio, she lived in the Mohawk Valley her entire life. She attended Mohawk school and married Charles F. Murray on November 4, 1956. She traveled to Tripoli, North Africa, while her husband served in the United States Air Force. They had five children that they raised in Mohawk, New York.
Marilyn was predeceased by her husband Charles F. Murray on March 14, 1988, and was remarried on July 25, 1992, to Raymond Rumrill, Sr. They lived and worked in Dolgeville, New York, until his passing on May 7, 2009. They were members of the American Legion in Little Falls, New York, and the Dolgeville Rod and Gun Club.
Marilyn had a love for the outdoors, from camping, campfires, to gardening and making beautiful flower beds. She had a green thumb and always had numerous plants that she tended to. She was an artist and used to draw and paint murals, create decorations, and Halloween costumes for her children when they were young. She loved the holidays and would always decorate to make it special for her loved ones. She loved animals and had both cats and dogs over the years. She could never say no to a sweet little kitten.
She was blessed with twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with them and watching them grow.
Marilyn is survived by her sister, Beatrice Dingman (Ilion, NY), her five children, Albert Murray (Francis) Mohawk, New York, Shirley Bellstedt (Karl) Herkimer, New York, Bonnie Ross, Herkimer, New York, Pamala Boscoe (Douglas) Massillon, Ohio and Beatrice Rivera (Steve) Bentonville, Arkansas and her grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, August 7th, 2025, from 12:00- 1:00 PM at Chapman Moser Funeral Home, 42 North Main Street, Little Falls, New York 13365. Funeral services will follow immediately after at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place at Ingham Mills Cemetery at a later date.
