Obituary of Doris J. Healey

Doris J. Healey, 82, formerly of Marsh Road Dolgeville, NY, passed away on August 1, 2024, at the Grand of Utica, NY.

Doris was born on July 23, 1942, in Little Falls, NY, to the late Lucian and Louise (Chrisman) Barnes and was educated in the Stratford School District.

On February 11, 1977, she was united in marriage with the late Albert Healey. They shared thirty-two years of blissful marriage until his passing on December 6, 2009.

Doris previously worked at the Daniel Green Shoe factory and the Dolgeville Central School District, but she truly enjoyed owning the Mahogany Ridge Restaurant in Salisbury.

Doris was a life member of the Stratford united methodist church and the Salisbury Ridge Runners. 

Doris is survived by her sister, Gloria Greene of Utica, NY, and her sister-in-laws, Judy Barnes, and Mary Ann Barnes of Dolgeville, NY, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Doris is predeceased by her Husband, Albert Healey. Her parents  Lucian and Louise Barnes. Her brothers, Carl, David, and Thomas Barnes, as well as two sisters, Dora Daley and Carol Aldrich, three brothers-in-laws, David Daley, Jessie Green, and Alvin Aldrich, a sister-in-law, Sharon Barnes, a niece, Theresa Austin, and a nephew, Jim Aldrich.

Calling Hours for Doris will be on Tuesday, August 6th, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am from the Chapman -Moser Funeral Home, 42 Ann Street, Little Falls, NY 13365. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am, with burial at Mt. View Memorial Gardens. 

Doris' family would like to thank some very close friends and Neighbors, Ellen Lewandowski, Mr. and Mrs. David Stallman, and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Izzo, for their compassion for her while she was at home. 

Doris has asked for memorial contributions to be made to the American Cancer Society; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
