Obituary of Guila Weckesser Craig

LARGO, FL - Guila Weckesser Craig, 75 entered into rest unexpectedly on February 27, 2010 in Largo, FL. She was born at home in Otego, NY, January 9, 1935. Guila was the daughter of Avery and Edna Palmater. She spent the majority of her life living in Little Falls and for the last several years, Largo, FL. Guila had worked at Allegro and then went on to work for Hospice. She had a true love for this work and gave her all to her patients. Guila also had a great love for her family and friends, she would cook and bake cakes for them. Guila also took pride in being a member of the Eastern Star. She was first married to Alfred Weckesser on August 19, 1953 after his passing on January 16, 1982, she married Norman Craig on December 14, 1994, he predeceased her on July 1, 2004. She is survived by her sons Henry (Hank) Weckesser, Little Falls and Alfred (Alfie) Weckesser, Largo, FL with whom she resided; stepchildren Mark, Kathleen, Michael, Janice, Mary and Anne McKeon; sisters Lena Anderson, Matts, NY, Lorraine Bushnell, Caplette, FL and Marie Palmater Bates, Chadwicks, NY; a special nephew James Roa, Little Falls, 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, a great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. In keeping with Guilas wishes, she was cremated and a service was held in Florida. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 1:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Guila be considered to Hospice Care, Inc. 4277 Middle Settlement Rd, New Hartford, NY 13413. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
