Obituary of Agnes C. Ashley
LITTLE FALLS Agnes C. Ashley, 81 of Little Falls passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008 at St. Elizabeths Medical Center, Utica following a short illness.
She was born on February 18, 1927 in Utica the daughter of the late Louis and Coletta (Heintz) Ehlinger. She was a graduate of St. Marys Academy, Little Falls class of 1944 where she was the Valedictorian and served as the schools first female class President.
She was united in marriage to her husband of 19 years Dr. Robert C. Ashley, MD in 1975. He predeceased her on September 7, 1994.
Mrs. Ashley was a member of the Holy Family Parish Church, Little Falls.
She was employed at onetime as a cashier for the former Loblaws Grocery Store, Little Falls and later as the manager of the Coffee Shop at Little Falls Hospital for many years.
She is survived by her 8 children Cherilyn LeVick and her husband Allen, Little Falls, John Kevin Carrig, Herkimer, Barbara J. Carrig, Little Falls, Bart M. Carrig and his wife Kathryn, Little Falls, Marie Juckett and her husband Robert, Bangor, ME, Keith M. Carrig and his wife Kim, Essex Junction, VT, Nancy F. Carrig and her fiancé© Dr. Edward Lee, New Hartford and Steven P. Carrig and his wife Kay, Grand Cayman Island, a step son James M. Ashley, Florida, a step daughter Genevieve Jeffers and her husband Lucius, Salisbury, a daughter in law Mary Jo Carrig, Little Falls, 2 sisters Elizabeth Yule, Utica, and Roberta Wagner and her husband Richard, Deerfield, 4 brothers Joseph Ehlinger and his wife Arlene, Little Falls, George Ehlinger and his wife Alice, Gray, NY, Peter Ehlinger and his wife Carmen, Orchard Park, NY and Paul Ehlinger and his wife Christine, Monaca, PA, 19 grandchildren Michael LeVick, Amy Locke, Cara Czerniak, Aaron Carrig, Daniel Carrig, Cisco Carrig, Bart C. Carrig, Brendan Carrig, Kellan Carrig, Bart McCarthy, Ryan McCarthy, Robert Juckett, Madison Carrig, Ezra Graves, Marie Emma Graves, Trent Carrig, Sasha Carrig, Joshua Carrig and Brian Carrig, 2 special granddaughters Valerie Reardon and Robin Moran, many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Paul L. Carrig on October 20, 1990 and by 4 sisters Margaret Worlock, Frances Fonda, Rosella Isele and Armella Gorton and 2 brothers Louis Ehlinger, KIA, WW II and Thomas Ehlinger.
Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family. Final interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills.
Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours.
