Obituary of Albert D. Jasewicz

LITTLE FALLS Albert D. Jasewicz, 80 of 6 West Shore Street, Little Falls the beloved husband of Lillian passed away Saturday, April 10, 2010 at his home with his loving family at his side. He was born on November 28, 1929 in Newport the son of the late Victor and Felicia Elsie (Piszkin) Jasewicz. He was educated in Little Falls schools. Mr. Jasewicz was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the US Navy. He entered the service on April 13, 1951. He was honorably discharged on April 11, 1957 as a Machinist Mate Second Class. While stationed in Massachusetts he met and was united in marriage to his wife of 53 years the former Lillian Porter on November 17, 1956 at the Lady of Lourdes Church, Jamaica Plain, Mass. Mr. Jasewicz was of the catholic faith. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 31, Little Falls, the AARP and was a multi gallon blood donor for the American Red Cross. He was an avid gardener and a dedicated family man who enjoyed cooking and helping others. He was employed for 34 years as a machine tender for the Burrows Paper Corp., Little Falls retiring in 1991. He is survived by his wife Lillian, 2 sons Kevin Jasewicz, Utica and Albert (AJ) Jasewicz and his wife Tracey, Oswego, 5 daughters Patricia Talaba and her husband David, Little Falls, Linda Bennett, Glenville, NY, Brenda LaPone and her companion Robert Chrisman, Little Falls, Laurie Tinkler and her husband Andy, Little Falls and Sharon Mumford and her husband Greg, Dolgeville, 3 brothers William Jasewicz and his wife Beatrice, Perth, NY, Victor Jasewicz and Stanley Jasewicz, both of Little Falls, 2 sisters Helen Korona and her husband Alfred, Amsterdam and Theresa Snell and her husband Harold, Little Falls, 19 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and his cherished dog Jingles. He was predeceased by a son David Jasewicz on December 4, 2005, 2 brothers Donald and Joseph Jasewicz and by 3 sisters Ann William, Frances Hooks and Mary Jasewicz. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 10:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Thomas Vail, Little Falls officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home following the service by the US Navy. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Thursday morning. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Jasewicz be considered to the Herkimer County Hunger Coalition, PO Box 622, Herkimer, NY 13350 or to the Mohawk Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross, 235 N. Prospect St., Herkimer, NY 13350. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the care and compassion show to Mr. Jasewicz and his family by the staff of Hospice. As well as for all of the help and support for Edna Campione, Marcella Harris and his many friends and family.
