Alice M. Lamb
LITTLE FALLS - Alice M. Lamb, 78 formerly of 154 Furnace Street, Little Falls and more recent of 41 Salisbury Street, Little Falls where she resided with her daughters. Passed away Thursday, February 26, 2004 at Faxton Hospital, Utica where she had been a patient since February 12, 2004.
She was born on November 11, 1925 in Little Falls the daughter of the late Jacob and Mary (Hessler) Follmer. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School Class of 1943 as well as a graduate of the Excelsior School of Business, Utica Class of 1944.
She was united in marriage to her husband of 46 years Gordon T. Lamb on June 24, 1950 at the Christ Lutheran Church, Little Falls by Rev. Schultz. Mr. Lamb predeceased her on March 18, 1996.
Mrs. Lamb was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Little Falls where she served as church organist from 1963 - 1980. she was also, a member of the Little Falls Moose Lodge # 615, Ladies Auxiliary as well as a member of the Little Falls American Legion Post # 31, Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Lamb and her husband Gordon enjoyed their annual vacation to visit friends in Canada where Mr. Lamb was an honorary member of the Royal Canadian Legion of Gananoque, Ontario, Canada, Branch # 92.
From 1944 - 1951 she was employed by the NYS Employment Office, Little Falls when she left that position to raise her family. Later she was employed as a sales clerk of the former Wonder Store, Little Falls. She also served as an Election Inspector for the Little Falls Polls for over 20 years.
She is survived by her son Gordon J. Lamb and his wife Cheryl, Ft. Plain, 4 daughters Donna Lamb, Virginia Murphy and Kathleen Lamb all of Little Falls and Barbara Ciano and her husband Richard, Livermore, Calif., 2 sisters in law Doris Stevens, Rochester and Virginia Griffith, Ilion, 2 grandsons Derek Lamb and Ryan Mowrey of Ft. Plain and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her 2 feline companions to whom she was so devoted Sammi & Ziggy. She was predeceased by 5 Brothers Alex Follmer, who died in 1941, Lt. Col. Jacob Follmer, who died in 1972, John P. Follmer, who died in 1977, Edward G. Follmer, who died in 1992 and Henry H. Follmer, who died in 2002, 2 sisters Erna Monahan, who died in 1999 and Mildred Hobb, who died in 2003.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2004 at 11:00 am from the Christ Lutheran Church, Petrie Street, Little Falls with the Rev. James Paulson, Pastor officiating. Final interment will take place in Church Street Cemetery, Little Falls.
Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers it is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Alice and her love of animals be considered to the Community Animal Program, c/o YMCA, 15 Jackson St., Little Falls, NY 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
