Obituary of Anna Paracka Long

Little Falls- Anna Paracka Long, 99, formerly of 102 Southern Ave., Little Falls, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Valley Health Services, Herkimer, where she has been resident since November 1999. She was born on April 29, 1909, in Little Falls, the daughter of the late John and Anna (Caltyk) Paracka. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School Class of 1926, as well as a graduate of the Utica Business College Class of 1928. She united in marriage to James Long on June 30, 1961 at St. Marys Church, Little Falls. Mr. Long predeceased her on March 16, 1969. Mrs. Long was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Little Falls and the American Legion Post # 31 Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Long was a life long employee of Joseph OBrien Leather Finishing Company, Little Falls as Executive Secretary. She is survived by her brother William and his wife Virginia, Danville, CA., 3 nephews Richard and his wife Wendy Paracka, Jerry and his wife Norma Begley, Tom and his wife Francine Paracka, 10 nieces Nancy and her husband Sam Grossman, Jean Ann Kolar, Bettsy and her husband Walter Mabbett, Sally and her husband Tom Kordaszevski, Karol Sue and her husband Wesley Byers, Sandra and her husband Ken Smith, Judy McIntyre, Dorothy and her husband Rod Nielsen, Patty and her husband John Frascatore, Annie Paracka, a great niece Sarah Grossman and a great nephew Sam Grossman. She was predeceased by 2 infant brothers John and Paul Paracka, 4 brothers John, Dusan, Paul, Milan Paracka and 2 sisters Bess Wurzbacher and Mildred Begley. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 10:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls officiated by James Paulson. Interment will take place in St. Marys Cemetery, Town of Herkimer. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Saturday February 21, 2009 from 9-10 am and to attend the funeral services to follow.
