Obituary of Armetta M. Seifried

LITTLE FALLS - Armetta M. Seifried, 99 of the Overlook Road, Little Falls passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the Folts Home, Herkimer. She was born on September 12, 1912 in Inghams Mills, NY the daughter of the late Charles and Grace (Allen) Youker. She was a graduate of Dolgeville High School Class of 1931. She was united in marriage to her husband of 50 years Jacob Seifried on October 14, 1939 at the First Baptist Church Parsonage, Little Falls. Mr. Seifried predeceased her on December 30, 1989. A regular attendee of the First Baptist Church, Little Falls she was a member of the Inghams Mills Baptist Church. At one time she served as the sunshine chairperson of the Rock City Chapter of the AARP, Little Falls Mrs. Seifried was an avid gardener and up until recent years enjoyed sewing and making crafts. She was especially fond of spending time with her extended family. She is survived by her daughter Marlene C. Seifried, with whom she resided, her daughter in law Cheryl Seifried, Dolgeville, her grandson Nathaniel Seifried and his wife Ashley, Rustburg, VA and her granddaughter Tricia Seifried, Charlotte, NC, five sisters in law Marion Youker, Dolgeville, Elizabeth Deming, and Anna Seifried, both of Little Falls, Audrey Seifried, Elmhurst, IL and Clara Seifried, Arizona, brother in law Joseph Seifried and his wife Joan, West Winfield, 20 nieces and nephews, 38 great nieces and nephews, 49 great great nieces and nephews and 22 great great great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Allen C. Seifried, on January 19, 2004 and by her brothers Arthur, George and Harland Youker and her sister Leola Stahl. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 10:00 am from the First Baptist Church, 555 Albany St., Little Falls with the Rev. Christopher Wintermute, Pastor and Rev. Donald L. Dixon, Pastor Emeritus of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills in the spring. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls on Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 3-7 pm and to attend the funeral services Monday morning. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Seifried be considered to the First Baptist Church, 555 Albany St., Little Falls, NY 13365 or to the Herkimer County Humane Society, PO Box 73, Mohawk, NY 13407. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
