Obituary of Bernice M. "Bunny" (Blovat) Mikus

LITTLE FALLS Bernice M. "Bunny" (Blovat) Mikus, 94 formerly of Valley View Courts, Little Falls passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Valley Health Services, Herkimer. She was born on January 30, 1916 in McConnellsville, NY the daughter of the late Cecil and Ethel (Hannay) Bronson. She was educated in Middleville Schools. She was united in marriage to her first husband Chester Blovat on February 10, 1933. Mr. Blovat predeceased her on April 9, 1955. On July 9, 1960 she was united in marriage to Stanley Mikus until his passing on June 9, 1991. Prior to moving to Little Falls she and her husband Stanley resided for many years on the Brockett Road, Dolgeville. Mrs. Mikus was employed at onetime by the former National Automotive Fibers Co., Little Falls and was last employed by the former Allegro Shoe Corp., Little Falls. She was a member of the Dolgeville United Methodist Church. Mrs. Mikus is survived by three sons Harold C. Blovat and his wife Eileen, Ilion, Frederick E. Blovat and his wife June, Moreno, CA and David L. Blovat and his wife Evelyn, North Syracuse, two brothers Cecil Bronson and his wife Mary and Leslie Bronson and his wife Ann both of Little Falls, a son in law Ernest Sutkowski, Saddle River, NJ, 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Jeanne M. Sutkowski, on November 23, 1999, a brother Lyle Bronson and three sisters Marie Pierce, Vivian Devereese and Lila Zawtocki. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 3, 2011 at 11:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Roger Klostner, Frankfort officiating. Interment will take place in Church Street Cemetery, Little Falls in the spring. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 2-5 pm and to attend the funeral services Monday morning. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Mikus be considered to the Dolgeville United Methodist Church, 21 N. Helmer Ave., Dolgeville, NY 13329.
