Obituary of Edith Bladek
LITTLE FALLS Edith J. (Wilson) Bladek 91 formerly of the Creek Road, Little Falls (Town of Danube) and more recent a resident of the Van Allen Nursing Home , Little Falls passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at that residence.
She was born on December 9, 1915 in the town of Fairfield the daughter of the late Albert and Jessie (Warner) Wilson. She was educated in Fairfield Rural Schools.
She was united in marriage to her husband of 46 years William A. Bladek on April 27, 1935 at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls. Mr. Bladek predeceased her on February 20, 1981.
She was an active member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls, she especially enjoyed working for the church thrift shop for many years. She was a also a member and the recorder for the Royal Neighbors of America, a member of the Rebecca Lodge, Fairfield Grange, S/Sgt. Steve Stefula Post 4612 VFW, Ladies Auxiliary, Little Falls, Canajoharie Square Dance Club, the Rock City Chapter of AARP and was an avid Bingo and card player.
She is survived by 2 sons William A. Bladek, Jr. and his wife Lany and Roger A. Bladek and his wife Beverly both of Newville, a daughter Barbara Malone and her husband Thomas, Greensburg, PA, 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brother Albert and Kenneth Wilson, 4 sisters Ruth Miller, Fannie Wilson, Mae Quinn and Florence Wood and by a granddaughter Kelly J. Bladek on September 1, 1993, a grandson Roger A. Bladek Jr. in December of 1958 and a great great grandson Giovanni Caracane
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 3, 2007 at 10:00 am from the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 588 Albany Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Dr. Steven Scarcia, Rector officiating. Interment will take place at Mt. View Memorial Gardens, Town of Little Falls.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls on Sunday, December 2, 2007 from 4-7 pm and to attend the funeral services Monday morning. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Bladek be considered to the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 588 Albany St., Little Falls, NY 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
