LITTLE FALLS - Rene C. Buccafurno, 82 of 218 Church Street, Little Falls passed away Sunday, June 19, 2005 at Valley Health Services where she had been a resident since June 10, 2005. She was born on July 20, 1922 in St. Johnsville the daughter of the late Philip and Mary (Palumbi) Caponera. She was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School. She was untied in marriage to her husband of 47 years James P. Buccafurno on April 16, 1950 at St. Joseph's Church, Little Falls. Mr. Buccafurno predeceased her on November 13, 1997. She was a member of the Holy Family Parish of Little Falls. As well as a member of the DeCarlo - Staffo Post# 8, ITAM, Ladies Auxiliary, Little Falls. Mrs. Buccafurno was employed at onetime by the former National Automotive Fibers, Little Falls, the former P & K Dress Co, Little Falls, the former Little Frocks Dress Co., Little Falls, the former Dreschers Dress Shop, Little Falls, Helmont Mills, St. Johnsville, Life Savers Co., Canajoharie, the former H. P. Snyder Mfg., Co., Little Falls, the former UNIVAC Corp, in both Ilion and Utica and was presently employed by LaSalle Labs, Little Falls. She also served at onetime as a crossing guard for the Little Falls School District. She enjoyed making crafts and traveling to different craft shows and was well known for her baking and sewing. She especially enjoyed continuing to work into her 80's and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by 3 daughters Rose M. Wilson and her husband Michael, Sr., Mohawk, Mary Netti and her husband James, Herkimer and Philippa M. Kucerak, Utica, a son in law George Macrina, Herkimer, 11 grandchildren Maria Fresco and her husband James, James Macrina and special friend Deanna, Carol Macrina and fiancé© Tom, James Allen and his wife Sandy, Loreneea Allen and fiancé© Walter, Lisa LiBritz and her husband Matthew, Christine Ade and special friend Phil, Felicia Kucerak and special friend Pete, Angeline Dolan and her husband Rick, Philippa Kucerak and Michalena Kucerak, 12 great grandchildren Breonna Eysaman, Ashley and Anthony Joseph, James Allen, Daniel Mote, Ashley and Ryan Bellinger, Michaella Kelly, Derek and Nathyn LiBritz, Steven and Sofia Kucerak and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Donna Macrina, who died in 2002, a grandson Philip Macrina, who died in 1976, a son in law Steven Kucerak, who died in 1998, 4 brothers Anthony Caponera, who died in 1990, Armino Caponera, who died in 1992, Victor Caponera, who died in 1997 and Joseph Caponera, who died in 2001 and by a sister Gilda Swaty, who died in 1984. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2005 at 10 :30 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls and at 11:00 am from the Holy Family Parish Church, Cor. Main & John St's, Little Falls where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Thursday morning. The family would like to extend and special thank you to the staff of Valley Health Services for their kindness and compassion shown to Mrs. Buccafurno and her family.
