Obituary of Catherine R. Houser

DOLGEVILLE Catherine R. Houser, 82 of 31 Stewart Street, Dolgeville passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at her residence. She was born on August 24, 1928 in Mohawk the daughter of the late James and Catherine (Keller) Moshier. She was educated in Stratford schools. She was united in marriage to her husband of 42 years Ralph G. Houser on April 17, 1948 at the United Methodist Church, Dolgeville. Mr. Houser predeceased her on March 5, 1990. Mrs. Houser was employed for many years in various shoe companies in the area. She was last employed for 26 years by the former Daniel Green Co., Dolgeville retiring in 1990. Over the years she was a member of several bowling leagues in Dolgeville. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family, caring for her birds and fishing especially her annual trip to Campbells Bay. She is survived by her son Ronnie Houser, Dolgeville with whom she resided, her daughter Deborah Nichols and her husband Richard, Salisbury Center, her sister Susie Youker, Salisbury Center, 4 grandchildren Scott Nichols and his companion Dusty Frey, Columbus, OH, Jason Nichols and his wife Darlene, Ballston Spa, Stacey Houser and her companion Damien Carpenter, Lewiston, ME and Kelly Bobar and her husband Scott, Canajoharie, 5 great grandchildren Jacob and Hailey Nichols, Crystallynn and Ryan Bobar and Audrey Allman, 3 sisters in law Bernice Clemons, Fredericksburg, VA, Marilyn Trask, Herkimer and Theresa Houser, Sebring, FL and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers James and Daniel Mosher and a sister Elizabeth Guile. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 12:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Jill Farnham, Chaplain of Hospice and Palliative Care officiating. Interment will take place in Salisbury Rural Cemetery, Town of Salisbury. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Saturday, September 4, 2010 from 10 am 12 pm and to attend the funeral services to follow.
