Obituary of Chester H. Dillenbeck

FORT PLAIN Chester H. Dillenbeck, 83 of 7782 State Highway 5S, Town of Minden passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on August 11, 1929 in the Town of Little Falls the son of the late Oliver and Bessie (Ward) Dillenbeck. He was educated in Little Falls and Danube Rural Schools. Mr. Dillenbeck was united in marriage to his wife of 62 years the former Marion Harlow on June 24, 1950 at the United Methodist Church Parsonage, Little Falls. For many years he worked on several dairy farms in the Town of Danube. He later became a truck driver hauling milk for the former Del-Wood Foods Co and later as a machinery hauler and mechanic for Valley Equipment, St. Johnsville and for several years prior to his retirement he was an independent trash hauling contractor. Mr. Dillenbeck was an avid fan of the John Deere tractor, collecting and restoring several over the years as well as collecting and admiring Dodge cars & trucks. He is survived by his wife Marion, sons Ronald Dillenbeck (Tonya), Little Falls and Timothy Dillenbeck (Jamie), Ft. Plain, daughters Laura Ambridge (Tom), Oppenheim, Phyllis Battisti (William), Ft. Plain and Christine Hoffman (Martin), Ft. Plain, 26 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Karen Wolowice in 2005 and his son in law Lynn Wolowice in March 2013, a granddaughter Robin Dillenbeck and grandson Jesse Dillenbeck and by six great grandchildren Krystle Swank, Sarafina Dillenbeck, Joseph and Riely Pottenburg and Dontae and Dayton Lance his brothers William, Herman, Leland and Harland Dillenbeck. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 10:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. Interment will take place in Ft. Plain Cemetery, Ft. Plain. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Wednesday morning. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Dillenbeck be considered to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
