Obituary of Christobel I. (Trask) Sube

HERKIMER Christobel I. (Trask) Sube, 74 of 123 Sherwood Acres Drive, Apt# K-41 Herkimer passed away Friday, July 23, 2010 at the Folts Home, Herkimer where she had been a resident for the past four months. She was born on April 28, 1936 in Cooperstown the daughter of the late Homer I. and Margaret (Bailey) Trask. She was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School Class of 1954. She was united in marriage to her husband of 52 years Michael J. Sube on June 14, 1958 at St. Marys Church, Little Falls. The couple left Little Falls in 1959 and moved to Gouverneur, NY where they resided for 42 years where her husband Michael was employed as a Pharmacist. After his retirement in 1998 they relocated to Herkimer for a short time and then moved to Fredericksburg,VA. In 2003 they returned to Little Falls and eventually settled in Herkimer. Mrs. Sube was employed at onetime as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Adam Pereske, DDS, Little Falls. In 1969 Mrs. Sube received one of the first kidney transplants in the country. Both she and her husband are strong supporters of organ donation. While in Gouverneur she was the recorder for the American Red Cross Blood Drives many years, as well as a former cub scout den mother and was active in the Mothers March of Dimes. She is survived by her husband Michael, her son Jeffrey M. Sube, Baltimore, MD, her daughter Carrie B. Gabriel, Arvada, CO, her sister Naomi Gross, Herkimer and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 10:00 am from the Holy Family Parish Church, Cor. of Main & John St.s, Little Falls with the Rev. Thomas Lawless officiating. Interment will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Town of Herkimer. The family will be present at the church to receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 9-10 am prior to the mass. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Sube be considered to the National Kidney Foundation of CNY, 731 James St., Syracuse, NY 13203. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Faxton / St. Lukes Dialysis Unit for the kindness and compassion shown to Mrs. Sube over the years and to the staff of Folts Home First Floor Medical Rehab. Unit for all their care and kindness shown to Mrs. Sube during here stay there It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Sube be considered to the National Kidney Foundation of CNY, 731 James St., Syracuse, NY 13203 or to the Folts Home Foundation, 104 N.
