Obituary of Christopher Dale Tupper
SALISBURY - Christopher Dale Tupper, 30 passed away unexpectedly on May 27, 2007. He was born in Smithtown, Long Island on November 8, 1976. He was raised in Brooklyn, NY where he was educated at William E. Grady High School and received a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science at Rutgers University in New Jersey.
He worked for the New York State Democratic Committee in the election of 2006 where he helped to elect Michael Arcuri into the U.S. Congress. He was last employed at Central Masonry and Chimney in Dolgeville.
Chris was a member of the Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department and Salisbury Covered Bridge Days Planning Committee. He was a huge fan of The Sopranos and Bruce Springsteen. He loved to fish, especially in the ocean. Chris and his girlfriend were expecting their first child due in December. He was very much looking forward to being a first time father
Chris leaves behind his best friend and girlfriend, Laureen S. Thomas of Salisbury, his mother, Rose Tupper and her husband, Andrew of Florida, a sister, Veronica Tupper of New Jersey, his grandmother Margaret Hughes of Stamford, NY, a special aunt Maryann and uncle Ron and cousin Joe of Florida, aunt Mamie of Stamford, NY and several other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Chris will also be missed by his extended family of which 9 nieces and nephews all called him "Uncle Chris." He provided laughter with fun and games and the kids absolutely adored him. Chris will mostly be remembered for his compassion for others and for his playful personality with his quick wit. He was predeceased by his father Frederick D. Tupper and by his grandfather Patrick Hughes.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial services on Saturday, June 16, 2007 at 6:00 pm to be held at the Salisbury Volunteer Fire Dept. Social Hall, State Route 29, Salisbury Center, NY
In lieu of flowers it is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Chris be considered to the Salisbury Volunteer Fire Dept., State Route 29, Salisbury Center, NY 13454 or to the S&S Ambulance Corps., P.O. Box 441, Salisbury Center, NY 13454
The family would also like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department for taking Chris under their wing and for being a friend to him. He was extremely proud of being a fireman.
