LITTLE FALLS - Cornelia (Connie) R. Murphy, 71, of 14 Burch St., Little Falls, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2004, at Little Falls Hospital, where she had been a patient since May 13.
She was born in the town of Fairfield, the daughter of the late Patrick and Isabel (Doyle) Murphy. She was a graduate of West Canada Valley Central schools. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk. Miss Murphy served as the chief steward for the U.S. Cruise Lines of New York, retiring in 1986.
She is survived by two sisters, Rita Rorke of Mohawk and Teresa Korce and her husband Andrew of Mohawk; 22 nieces and nephews, including Nora Bielejec Starring, Little Falls, with whom she resided and Mark R. Fuller, Darien, Conn.
She was predeceased by four sisters, Anne Walton, who died in 1989; Martha Bielejec, who died in 1992; Joan Fuller, who died in 1989; and Mary Kay Murphy, who died in 2000.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 19, at 10 a.m. from the Church of Saints Anthony and Joseph, South Main Street, Herkimer, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home Inc., 42 N. Ann St., Little Falls, on Wednesday, May 19, from 9-9:30 a.m. and to attend the funeral services to follow.
