Obituary of Daniel W. Hogan

JORDANVILLE- Daniel W. Hogan, 68 of 536 Travis Road, Jordanville, passed away unexpectedly at St. Elizabeths Medical Center, Utica on Monday, February 18, 2013. He was born on July 24, 1944 in the Bronx, NY, the son of the late Everett and Bertha (Kuntzsch) Hogan. He was educated in the NYC schools. He was united in marriage to his wife of 12 years the former Rose Marie Grescheck on February 28, 2001. Mr. Hogan was veteran of the US Army. Entering the service on August 17, 1965 in Queens, NY. He was honorably discharged on July 31, 1967. He was of the Catholic Faith and a member of the American Legion Post #25. Mr. Hogan was employed for 27 years as a climber and pruner for the City of New York Parks and Recreation Department, NYC, until his retirement in 1996. He is survived by his wife Rose, his daughter Dina Quigley and her husband Kenneth, South Ozone Park, NY, his son Daniel (Danny Boy) Hogan, FL, brother Teddy Stretmayer and his wife Carol, Glendale, NY, sister Nancy Washburn, Starkville, a step-daughter Heather Wolff and her husband Troy, FL, 3 grandchildren Kenny Quigley, Austin and Dane Wolff and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Van Hornesville Cemetery, Van Hornesville at a time and date to be announced. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Hogan be considered to the Disabled American Veterans, 344 West Genesee Street, Suite 203, Syracuse, NY., 13202 or to the Van Hornesville Vol. Fire Dept., Main Street, Van Hornesville, NY., 13820. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
