Obituary of David C. Bucenec
LITTLE FALLS - David C. Bucenec, 63 formerly of 8 W. Main Street, Little Falls fell asleep in death on Thursday, December 9, 2004 at the Van Allen Nursing Home, Little Falls after a courageous four year battle with cancer. He had been a resident of Van Allen's since October 14, 2004.
He was born on December 16, 1940 in Little Falls the son of Joan (Allen) Ferguson of Little Falls and the late John Bucenec. He was a graduate of Little Falls High School Class of 1958.
Mr. Bucenec was a veteran of the US Army.
He is fondly remember by his family and friends as a fun loving man with a quick wit and sense of humor, an avid chess player and reader. He also enjoyed listing to all types of music and was an life long Red Sox's fan who was glad that he was able to see his team finally win the 2004 World Series.
Mr. Bucenec was employed by the Redco Foods Corp., Little Falls where he was well liked and respected by his co workers. He retired after 40 years of service in 2002.
He is survived by his mother Joan Ferguson, Little Falls, a sister Sherrill Broat and her husband Melvin, Jordanville, his dear friends Robert Paro, Frankfort and Doris Waldruff, Newport, his niece Rosalyn Ostler, Little Falls, 4 nephews John Seeley, Nelliston, Vincent Seeley, St. Paris, OH, Joseph Broat, Little Falls and Nick Broat, Mohawk, 5 great nieces and nephews, Laura and Allen Taylor and James Seeley, all of St. Paris, OH, Keegan and Anders Ostler, Little Falls and many dear and close friends. He was predeceased by his father John Bucenec, his maternal grandmother Frankie Laubenstein and by a nephew Gordon E. Seeley.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery, Utica.
Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours.
It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Bucenec be considered to Hospice Care, Inc. 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Vicki and the staff of Hospice Care and to Dan Davis and the staff the Van Allen Nursing Home for the kindness and compassion shown to Mr. Bucenec during the past months.
