Obituary of David G. (Doc) Muller

LITTLE FALLS - David G. (Doc) Muller, 58 of 74 Burch Street, Little Falls passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at his residence with his loving family by his side He was born on November 25, 1948 in Albany the son of the late Oscar J. Muller, MD and Natalie (Mueller) Muller. He was a graduate of Little Falls High School class of 1966 and attended Mohawk Valley Community College following his military service. He was united in marriage to his wife of 31 years the former Sandra L. Balderston on April 3, 1976 at the Christ Lutheran Church, Little Falls. Mr. Muller was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the US Army. Entering the service on May 28, 1968 in Syracuse serving with A Co. 229th, First Air Cavalry. He was awarded for his courageous service to his country, two Purple Hearts, the Bronze Star for Valor, the Air Medal, the Conspicuous Service Cross and the Vietnam Service Medal. He was honorably discharged on February 21, 1970. He was a member of the General Herkimer Chapter # 130, Military Order of the Purple Heart, American Legion Post # 31, Little Falls, S/Sgt. Steve Stefula Post # 4612, VFW, Little Falls, Disabled American Veterans, Polish Community Home, Little Falls, North American Hunting Club and served as Union Steward for the Nation Association of Letter Carriers. Mr. Muller was employed for 22 years as Letter Carrier for the US Postal Service, Little Falls, were he was well known and welcomed by many of the residents of Little Falls he served on a daily basis. He is survived by his wife Sandra, his son Ian James Muller and his wife Jessica, Little Falls, his daughter Janet Colpo and her husband Roy, Martinez, GA, 4 sisters Elaine Muller, W. Palm Beach, FL, Rev. Nadine and her husband Rev. Mark Ridley, Binghamton, NY, Barbara Muller-Borer and her husband Michael, Greenville, NC and Elizabeth Carrig and her husband Kenneth, The Woodlands, TX, 3 grandchildren Shelby Muller, Little Falls, William Markey, Little Falls and Cody Markey, Herkimer and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother James Ian Muller on November 6, 1975. Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 10:00 am from the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 512 E. Gansevoort Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Carl Evans, Pastor officiating. Interment will take place in Church Street Cemetery, Little Falls where Full Military Honors will be accorded. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls on Friday, October 19, 2007 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Saturday morning.
