Obituary of Diane Christensen

STRATFORD Diane Christensen, 63 of 162 Gleason Road, Dolgeville (Town of Stratford) passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 22, 2008 at her residence. She was born on October 13, 1945 in Passaic, NJ the daughter of the late Lester and Helen (Bobbi) Herman. She was educated in Pompton Plains, NJ schools and attended the Capri Beauty School in Clifton, NJ. She later furthered education at Herkimer County and Fulton Montgomery Community Colleges where she received and Associates Degree in Para Legal studies. She was united in marriage to her husband of 44 years Lonney H. Christensen on January 11, 1964 at the Dutch Reformed Church, Pompton Plains, NJ. Mrs. Christensen and her husband Lonney relocated from New Jersey in 1981 and have since resided in Stratford. She was employed for several years as a licensed Real Estate Broker for the former Northwest Realty Agency, Little Falls. In her earlier years she was employed as a manager of a saw mill in Sussex, NJ as a Bookkeeper for the Blue Ridge Construction Co., New Jersey and as a merchandiser for the Service Advantage Corp., in various stores in the Mohawk Valley. She attended the Oppenheim and Stratford Methodist Churches and especially enjoyed doing craft projects. She is survived by her husband Lonney, 3 sisters Arlene Crum and her husband Richard, Oppenheim, Rhoda Nedzetsky and her husband David, Denville, NJ and Oppenheim and Pamela Gleeson and her husband Michael, S. Amboy, NJ, a brother in law Richard Smith, Oppenheim and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Kathleen Smith in May of 2008. Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 28, 2008 at 2:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc, 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with the Rev. John Reams, Pastor of the United Methodist Church, Stratford officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Friday, November 28, 2008 from 1-2 pm and attend the services to follow. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Christensen be considered to the Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter, 133 Hilltop Road, Sprakers, NY 12166. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
