Obituary of Dorothy N. (Dolly) Mills

LITTLE FALLS - Dorothy N. (Dolly) Mills, 83 formerly of 58 Jackson Street, Little Falls and since October of 2005 a resident of the St. Johnsville Nursing Home passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at Little Falls Hospital. She was born on August 12, 1923 in Chicago Heights, IL the daughter of the late Oscar Guy and Dorothy (Swarbrick) Norwood. She was a graduate of Hamburg, NY High School and attended Moravian College. She was united in marriage to her husband of 42 years E. Brown Mills in 1944 in Hamburg, NY. Mr. Mills predeceased her on June 23, 1986. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Little Falls. A former member of the Little Falls Hospital Board of Directors, past president of the Little Falls Hospital Guild and was active in many of the hospitals affairs. She was also a former member of the WCA Board of Directors, Little Falls. Mrs. Mills along with her husband at onetime owned and operated the Foxmoor Hotel in Old Forge. She is survived by 2 sons Guy Mills and his wife Judith, Delanson, NY and William Mills and his wife Cynthia, Little Falls, a brother John Norwood, Long Island, NY, 5 grandchildren Jennifer, Amanda, Rachael, Norwood and Elizabeth Mills and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Melinda Hope Mills and by a son Harvey A. Mills. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Jon A. Noble, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, Little Falls officiating. Interment will take place in Church Street Cemetery, Little Falls in the spring. There are no calling hours. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Mills be considered to the Little Falls Hospital, 140 Burwell St., Little Falls, NY 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
