Edgar J. (Buttsy) Baum
LITTLE FALLS - Edgar J. (Buttsy) Baum, 79 formerly of 39 Top Notch Road, Little Falls passed away Monday, November 10, 2003 at the Mohawk Valley Nursing, Ilion, where he has been a resident since 1998.
He was born on July 21, 1924 in Little Falls the son of the late George and Albine (Stallman) Baum. He was a graduate of Little Falls High School class of 1942.
Buttsy was united in marriage to his wife of 49 years the former Martha Bilek on February 16, 1945 in Little Falls who predeceased him on August 26, 1994.
He was a veteran of World War II serving the US Navy. Entering the service on March 2, 1943. He was honorably discharged January 29, 1946 as a Storekeeper 1st Class.
Buttsy was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Little Falls. As well as the S/Sgt. Steve Stefula Post #4612 V.F.W., Little Falls. He was a basketball player in the former Valley Basketball League and was a avid Fisherman, Hunter. He loved spending his vacation time at Piseco Lake.
Mr. Baum was employed by the Salada Foods Company, Little Falls as a mechanic for over 40 years.
Family members include one daughter Lynne B. Parker and her husband Donald, Naples FL and Piseco Lake, NY, 3 grandchildren Jason Parker, Atlanta, GA, Matthew Parker, White Plains, NY and Marta Kay Parker, Chappaqua, NY and a sister Anna Bilek, Albany, a sister in law Helen Eskoff and her husband George, a brother in law Stephen Bachorik and a sister in law Ellie Baum all of Little Falls and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers George H. Baum Jr. who died on February 14, 1993 and Emil P. Baum who died on June 4, 2001.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in the Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Town of Little Falls.
Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours.
