Obituary of Irene K. Edick

MOHAWK - Irene K. Edick, 93 formerly of 150 Kanzog Road, Mohawk entered into eternal life on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at the Folts Home, Herkimer where she had been a resident since March of 2004. She was born on July 31, 1912 in the town of German Flatts, the daughter of the late Oscar and Alma (Shibley) Kanzog. She was educated in a one room school in Jacksonburg, NY and Little Falls High School. She was a member of the Mohawk Reformed Church. She was united in marriage to Arthur W. Edick on March 16, 1935 at the Kanzog family home. The couple shared a blessed union of marriage for over 65 years until Mr. Edick's passing on October 14, 2000. As a loving mother , grandmother and great grandmother, Mrs. Edick expanded every effort to provide them with a good family life. In her leisure she enjoyed reading and working in her flowers. She is survived by 2 daughters Lucille Sitterly and her husband Robert, of 164 Kanzog Road, Mohawk, Lois Edick of Puerto Rico, a son Floyd K. Edick and his wife Janice of Livingston, Texas, 9 grandchildren and their spouses, Debra Hagadorn, Daniel Sitterly, Randy Sitterly, Christine Lace, Donald Edick, Carol Heidelmeier, Sixto Gonzalez, Jr., Ricardo Gonzalez, Melissa Gonzalez Ucasz and 14 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother Harold Shibley Kanzog. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 10:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Brian Engel, Pastor of the Mohawk Reformed Church, officiating. Interment will take place in the Kanzog family plot in Salisbury Rural Cemetery, Town of Salisbury. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Friday, June 2, 2006 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Saturday morning. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Edick be considered to the American Diabetes Association, 1508 Genesee St., Utica, NY 13502 or to the Mohawk Reformed Church, 20 S. Otsego St., Mohawk, NY 13407. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose. The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Haas and all those healthcare workers and other employees, both past and present, at the Folts Home for all the tender loving care given to our loved one during her stay with them. They would also like to thank the staff at Little Falls Hospital for the good care during her recent visit there.
