Obituary of Edna L. Skandera

LITTLE FALLS- Edna L. Skandera, 93, passed away Tuesday , November 22, 2011 at the Alpine Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Where she has been a resident since January 2010. She was born in Little Falls on May 22, 1918, the daughter of the late Samuel and Maggie (Wilson) Lodge. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School Class of 1936. She was united in marriage at the United Methodist Church, Little Falls on March 23, 1940, to her husband of 31 years John Skandera, Jr. who predeceased her on April 10, 1971. Mrs. Skandera began her career at Cherry-Burrell, Little Falls as an office clerk during WWII and later was employed at Burrows Paper Corp., Little Falls. She retired in1983 after 25 years of service. She was of the Methodist faith for most of her life, now she a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Little Falls. She is a 70 year member of Matron of Auskerade Maquaes Rock City Chapter #204, OES, Dolgeville and member of the Little Falls Historical Society. She also enjoyed her 10 years of volunteering at the Little Falls Hospital. She is survived by a daughter Barbara Smith, Little Falls, a grandson Darren J. Lee, Solvay, NY., 3 granddaughters Jennifer Cash and her husband Carl III, Columbus, OH., Amanda Ferraro and her husband Joseph, Middlegrove, NY., Alexis A. Smith, Liverpool, NY., 6 great grandchildren Kiley, Jacob, Abigail, Carter, Skylar, Max and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a daughter Joanne S. Lee, son-in-law Harry V. (Skip) Smith, 2 sisters Agnes L. Christman and Jenny L. Clark. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 1:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, with the Rev. Jon A. Noble from the First United Presbyterian Church, Little Falls, officiating. Interment will follow in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Monday, November 28, 2011 from Noon and to attend the funeral services to follow. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls.
