Obituary of Edna Mae Harlow

ST. JOHNSVILLE Edna Mae Harlow, 92 formerly of 68 Averill St., St. Johnsville and since December 4, 2007 a resident of Valley Health Services, Herkimer passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008 at that residence. She was born on September 5, 1915 in the Town of Herkimer the daughter of the late Arthur and Bertha Congdon. She was educated in Indian Castle Rural schools. She was united in marriage to her husband of 60 years Jesse E. Harlow on September 24, 1932 at the First Baptist Church, Little Falls. Mr. Harlow predeceased her on February 28, 1992. A beloved mother, grandmother and friend whos kitchen and home were always open. She especially enjoyed the many Sunday dinners with family and friends. She is survived by 2 sons Edward A. Harlow and his wife Betty, Oppenheim and Timothy L. Harlow and his wife Sandy, Dolgeville, 3 daughters Marion Dillenbeck and her husband Chester, Fort. Plain, Jeanne Ucasz and her husband David Little Falls and Jane Battisti and her husband Peter, St. Johnsville, 2 half brothers Richard Davis and his wife Fay, Jacksonville, FL and Robert Congdon and his wife Janice, Ocid, NY, a half sister Phoebe Sterling and her husband Ronald, Ilion, 34 Grandchildren, 37 Great Grandchildren, 63 Great Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 brothers Clarence, Herman and Henry Congdon, 2 sisters Dorothy Walrath and Barbara Sweet, her daughter Agnes Victor, on July 18, 1995, a granddaughter Karen Wolowice, on September 7, 2005 and a great grandson Chad J. Cotton, on March 16, 2003 and several other grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 10:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with Mr. David Tarbox officiating Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Wednesday morning. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Harlow be considered to the Valley Health Services, 690 W. German St., Ext., Herkimer, NY 13350. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
