Obituary of Edward F. Belcher

Edward F. Belcher MAYFIELD - Edward F. Belcher, 67 of 127 Delaney Road, Mayfield passed away Saturday, April 10, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam where he had been a patient since March 11, 2004. He was born on June 23, 1936 in Little Falls the son of the late Edward Belcher and Bernice (Busch) Belcher Hayes. He was a graduate of Stratford High School, class of 1955. He was united in marriage to the former Juanita K. Johnson on June 18, 1977 in Mayfield. Mr. Belcher was a veteran of the US Navy. Entering the service June 25, 1958 in Albany. He served aboard the USS Alamo, based at the US Naval Station in San Diego, CA. He was honorably discharged as a Machinist Mate Second Class on June 20, 1962. Mr. Belcher was employed for over 35 years a run test operator for the Hussmann Corp., Gloversville, retiring in 1996. He was also employed at onetime by the former H.P. Snyder Mfg. Co., Little Falls. He is survived by his wife Juanita, Mayfield, 4 sons Byron T. Alling and his wife Julie, Stratford, Brian E. Alling and his wife Cynthia, Stratford, Brent S. Alling, Gloversville and Edward F. Belcher, Jr., Mayfield, a daughter Kimberla Belcher - Lander and her husband Charles, Gloversville, 7 grandchildren Brandon J. Alling, Corinne Alling, Joshua Alling, Brent Alling, Jr., Benjamin Alling, Kayla Lander and Austin Lander, a special cousin Carol Seeley, Mayfield and many other cousins and friends. He was predeceased by a brother Lawrence Belcher, who died in 1938. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at 10:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Patrick Veltri, Pastor of the Gloversville Weslyan Church officiating. Interment will take place in Stratford Cemetery, Stratford later in the spring. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their resects at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 13, 2004 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Wednesday morning. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Belcher be considered to the American Cancer Society, 430 Court St., Utica, NY 13502. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
