Obituary of Little Falls- Elizabeth (Betty) C. Marino

Little Falls- Elizabeth (Betty) C. Marino, 85, of Hill Spring Farm, 235 Dise Road, Little Falls passed away unexpectedly at Little Falls Hospital on Thursday, July 10, 2008. She was born on March 17, 1923 in Little Falls the daughter of the late Frank and Martha (Grose) Roberts. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School class of 1941. She continued her education graduating from Utica School of Nursing. She was united in marriage to her husband of nearly 50 years Michael F. Marino on September 27, 1942 in the First Presbyterian Church Parish House, Amsterdam. Mr. Marino predeceased her on April 23, 1992, Mrs. Marino was a member of St. Pauls Universalist Church in Little Falls where she was a member of the Womens Choir and Womens Club. Mrs. Marinos was employed for a short time at GK Dress Factory in Little Falls. After graduated in 1963 from Utica School of Nursing she then worked at the Little Falls Hospital as a emergancy room nurse for nearly 20 years. After her husband was transferred by Univac to Bristol TN., in 1977 she served the Bristol Nursing Home facility in Bristol, VA., as a charge nurse until she retired in 1989. After Mr. Marinos death in 1992 she moved back to Little Falls where she was the chairman and operator of Hill Spring Farm, raising sheep from 1995 to 2004. She is survived by her two sons Michael Marino and his wife Ann, NYC, Robert Marino and his wife Darlene, Orlando, FL., six grandchildren Michael Marino and his wife Marija, Los Angles, CA., Lisa Marino and her husband John Refo, NYC, Matthew Marino and his wife Katherine, Boston, MA., Elizabeth Marino, Robbie Marino, Shannon Marino, Orlando, FL., three step grandchildren Laurel Sroufe and her husband Derek, Scottsdale, AZ., John Dell, Long Island, Michael Dell, NYC, five great grandchildren Michael Marino, Dominic Marino, Tiffany Marino, Kylee Blankenship, Donavyn Marino all of whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her two sister-in-laws Marion Long, Dayton, OH., Arlena Marino, NYC., a niece Jean Fogarty, Little Falls and a grand nephew Andy Fogarty. In Little Falls her extended family included Rudy Lorenzoni and the Dan and Lisa Tolmen family and the members of the Jasewicz family. She was predeceased by her sister Eleanor S. Connolly on April 5, 2007, a brother-in-law James Connolly on September 20, 1982 and by her niece Joan Connolly Benson on March 14, 1994. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 from the St. Pauls Universalist Church, 565 Albany Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Kimberly Miner officiating. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 North Ann Street, Little Falls (Today) Monday, July 14, 2008 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Tuesday morning. In lieu of flowers it is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Marino be considered to St. Pauls Universalist Church, 565 Albany Street, Little Falls or to the Little Falls Hospital, 140 Burwell Street, Little Falls, NY. 13365.
