Obituary of Elizabeth S. Schumacher

LITTLE FALLS Elizabeth S. Schumacher, 91 formerly of 1291 State Route 169, Little Falls passed away Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Alpine Rehab. and Nursing Center, Little Falls where she had been resident since August of 2010. She was born on May 5, 1919 in Little Falls the daughter of the late Fredinand and Sophie (Schmidt) Graudons. A life long resident of Little Falls, she educated at Little Falls High School and was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Little Falls. She was united in marriage to her husband of 54 years Walter J. Schumacher on June 29, 1940 at the Christ Lutheran Church, Little Falls. Mr. Schumacher predeceased her on March 1, 1994. Mrs. Schumacher was employed as a sewing machine operator by the former Little Falls Felt Shoe Co. for 29 years and was last employed by the former P & K Dress Corp., Little Falls retiring in 1981. She is survived by her daughter in law Margo Schumacher, Hyde Park, NY, her beloved grandchildren Christian Schumacher, Newport, RI and Kelly E. Schumacher and her fiancé© Derrick King, New York City, NY, her godchildren Elizabeth Cabanas, St. Johnsville, Pamela Mosher, Ilion and William Graudons, Syracuse, her brother Robert Graudons, Little Falls, her beloved niece Cindy Walsh, Frankfort and many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Robert W. Schumacher on November 22, 2007, her brothers, Alfred, William and Henry Graudons and her sisters Martha Hessler and Leda Failing. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 1:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with the Deacon Jay Berry of the Christ Lutheran Church, Little Falls officiating. Interment will take place in Mt. View Memorial Gardens, Town of Little Falls in the spring. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Saturday, January 15, 2011 from 12-1 pm and to attend the funeral services to follow. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Schumacher be considered to the Christ Lutheran Church, 14 Petrie St., Little Falls, NY 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
