Obituary of Ellen W. Gerdin

LITTLE FALLS- Ellen W. Gerdin, 85 of 562 Garden Street, Little Falls passed away Sunday April 18, 2010 at Valley Health Services, Herkimer. She was born on January 4, 1925 in Little Falls the daughter of the late Paul W. and Anna (Kerr) Wing. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School. She was united in marriage to her husband of 57 years Louis P. Gerdin on April 26, 1952 at the First Presbyterian Church, Little Falls. Mr. Gerdin predeceased her on March 13, 2009. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Little Falls and was an active member in the church choir and choir bell. Both Louis and Ellen were deeply involved in the community and loved helping others. She is survived by her four daughters Nancy Moore-Beeman, Ithaca, Jean Rice, NJ, Gail Gerdin, S. Dakota and Ann Tomei, Little Falls, six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother William H. Wing. Memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills will be private. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no public calling hours. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Gerdin be considered to the First Presbyterian Church, 16 Jackson Street, Little Falls, NY. 13365 or to the Little Falls Hospital, 140 Burwell Street, Little Falls, NY. 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
