Obituary of Evelyn R. Travis

LITTLE FALLS - Evelyn R. Travis, 86 formerly of Little Falls and more recent of the Folts Home, Herkimer passed away Sunday, May 20, 2007 at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital, New Hartford. She was born on July 21, 1920 in Little Falls the daughter of the late Arthur and Frederica (Phelps) Farnholtz. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School class of 1938. Mrs. Travis was employed as a machine operator for the former Dufold Corp., Ilion for 20 years retiring in 1985. She was also employed in private duty healthcare for various families in the Little Falls area for many years. She is survived by her son Robert C. Travis and his wife Grace, Ilion, her daughter JoAnn McKenney and her fiancé© Thomas Merry, Vernon Center, 7 grandchildren, Tammy Hendrick and her husband Paul, Robert S. Travis, Amanda and Nathan Travis, Peter McKenney, Kathleen Weber and her husband Thomas, and Meghan McKenney, , and, 7 great grandchildren Kristell Havens and her husband Tim, Paul Hendrick, Lindsey Hendrick, Alexis, William and Anna Travis, and Peter Weber and a great great granddaughter Tanya Havens and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Frederick Farnholtz and by 2 granddaughters Karen Kretser and Tanya Travis. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at 11:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, with Mrs. Travis's nephew the Rev. David Farnholtz, officiating. Interment will take place in Church Street Cemetery, Little Falls. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Thursday morning. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Travis be considered to the Tanya Travis Nursing Scholarship Fund, c/o Ilion High School, Weber Ave, Ilion, NY 13357. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
