Obituary of Gertrude L. Knapp

LITTLE FALLS - Gertrude L. Knapp, 94 formerly of 240 Church Street, Little Falls passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the Masonic Care Community, Utica, where she had been a resident since October of 2012. She was born on July 21, 1918 in Little Falls the daughter of the late Matthew and Katherine (Wosh) Urich. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School class of 1938. She was united in marriage to her husband of 67 years Harold G. Knapp on May 30, 1946 at the Christ Lutheran Church, Little Falls. Mrs. Knapp was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Little Falls and was a former Sunday School teacher. She is survived by her husband Harold, her sons Alan D. Knapp, Sherrill, NY and Donald B. Knapp and his wife Mary Ann, Sauquoit, NY, her grandsons Scott, Brett, Matthew, David, Michael and Christopher Knapp, a sister in law Helen Urich, Little Falls and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Richard H. Knapp in 1954, her brothers Theodore Urich in 1985 and Fred M. Urich in 1987 and her sister Helen Weckesser in 2009 and by her daughter in law Mary E. Knapp in 2000. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 10:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY with the Vicar Christin Fawcett of the Christ Lutheran Church, Little Falls officiating. Interment will take place in Church Street Cemetery, Little Falls. There are no calling hours. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Knapp be considered to the Christ Lutheran Church, 14 Petrie St., Little Falls, NY 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
