Obituary of Gilbert J. Goutremont

LITTLE FALLS Gilbert J. Goutremont 88 of 105 Protection Ave., Herkimer and more recent a resident of Valley Health Services, Herkimer passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2009. He was born on March 3, 1921 in Lowville, NY the son of the late Jay and Irene (Barries) Goutremont. He was educated in Little Falls Schools. Mr. Goutremont served as a member of the US Merchant Marines during World War II. He was employed for many years as a truck driver for the Chapman Lumber & Building Supply Co., Syracuse retiring in 1988. He is survived by his 4 daughters Mary Kops and her husband Robert, Muskegon, MI, Linda Goutremont, Little Falls, Brenda Lyon and her husband Albert, Morganton, NC and Elaine Augar and her husband Donald, Dolgeville, a brother Harold Goutremont, Utica, 20 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 sons John Keeler, John Goutremont and James Goutremont, a daughter Diane Goutremont, a brother Leon Goutremont and by 4 sister Inez Warmuth, Grace Mosher, Laura Furie and Pauline Waufle. Graveside memorial services will be held at Church Street Cemetery, Little Falls at a time and date to be announced in the spring of 2010. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls.
