Obituary of Dennis R. Grant

Dennis R. Grant RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Dennis R. Grant, 53 of 235 Main Street, Richfield Springs passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 3, 2003 after being stricken in Carbondale, PA where he was making a delivery. He was born on August 9, 1949 in Little Falls the son of the late Charles and Josephine (Anacker) Grant. He was educated at Little Falls High School. He was united in marriage to the former Gail E. Lanphere on August 25, 1967 at the Salisbury United Methodist Church Parsonage, with the Rev. Dolling officiating. Mr. Grant was a attended of the Williams Memorial Chapel, Salisbury. He was a registered handgun marksman and for many years competed in handgun shooting competitions. He was also at onetime an avid deer hunter. Mr. Grant was employed for 29 years as a molder in the foundry of Chicago Pneumatic Co., Utica. Upon the plants closing he went to school to obtain his Commercial Drivers License and began his career with his present employer Mohawk Limited of Chadwicks, NY. He was a devoted husband and father and enjoyed being with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Gail, Richfield Springs, 3 sons Dennis M. Grant, Salisbury Center, Charles M. Grant, Mohawk and Thomas M. Grant, Richfield Springs, a daughter Laura L. Grant, Philadelphia, PA and a foster daughter Caroline Lanz, Richfield Springs, a brother Charles D. Grant and his wife Margaret, New Hartford, 3 grandchildren Amber Renee Grant, Zachary Tyler Grant and Megan Marie Grant, a sister in law Susanne Grant, Elmira and several nieces and nephews. HHHe was predeceased by a brother Lawrence Grant, who died on May 13, 1999. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Curtis Cemetery, Town of Salisbury at a time and date to be announced. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Grant be considered to the American Heart Association, Heart Gifts Processing Center, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
