Obituary of James P. Straney
LITTLE FALLS - James P. Straney, 54 of 821 E. Monroe Street, Little Falls passed away Monday, September 22, 2008 at Albany Medical Center, Albany.
He was born on April 15, 1954 in Rochester the son of James A. and Patricia (Schoff) Straney of Ava, NY. He was a graduate of Rome Free Academy, Rome. He also graduated from SUNY Albany with a Bachelors Degree in mathematics.
He was united in marriage to Jan A. Nesom on August 28, 1998 in Little Falls.
A member of the Holy Family Parish Church, Little Falls. Mr. Straney was also a musician who enjoyed playing the Viola and Violin
Mr. Straney was the Senior Vice President of Health and Human Service Systems for MAXIMUS Inc., Reston, VA.
He is survived by his wife Jan A. Nesom, his parents James and Patricia Straney, Ava, NY, 2 sons Michael Straney, Orlando, FL and Jeffrey Straney, Wellington, FL, 2 daughters Rachel Straney and Joanne Straney both of Orlando, FL, 4 brothers Paul Straney and his wife Mona, Rome, Daniel Straney and his wife Bethany, St. Johnsville, Charles Straney and his wife Amanda, Little Falls and Geoffrey Straney, Utica, 6 sisters Mary Straney, McLean, VA, Lauri Straney, New York City, Cathleen Woodul, Newport, Patricia Keegan, Joan Turri and her husband David, and Anne Marie Straney, all of Buffalo and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 10:30 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls and at 11:00 am from the Holy Family Parish Church, Cor. Main & John St.s, Little Falls where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato. Interment will take place in St. Marys Cemetery, Town of Herkimer.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Friday, September 26, 2008 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Saturday morning.
