Obituary of Jane Amell

LITTLE FALLS Jane Amell, 95 formerly of Little Falls passed away Friday, September 18, 2009 at Valley Health Services, Herkimer. She was born on December 18, 1913 in Little Falls the daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Lake) Prentice. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School Class of 1932. She was united in marriage to her husband of 58 years Benjamin H. Amell on April 17, 1937 at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls. Mr. Amell predeceased her on October 16, 1995. She was a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls. As well as a member of the S/Sgt. Steve Stefula Post # 4612 VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Little Falls. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Van Allen Nursing Home, Little Falls. Mrs. Amell was employed for over 40 years as a machine operator for the former Allegro Shoe Corp., Little Falls retiring in 1977. She is survived by her nephews Donald Buckley, Herkimer, Richard Buckley and his wife Prudence, Falls Church, VA, her nieces Elizabeth Pierce and her husband Charles, Long Beach, WA, Barbara Baia, Broadalbin, NY, Rosalie Fallove and her husband Sam, Utica, Doris Buckley, Little Falls and several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her Brother Arthur Prentice, 2 sisters Dorothy Buckley on May 21, 1990 and Marion Zambri on March 10, 1992 and her nephew Joseph Buckley on October 5, 1995. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Dr. Steven A. Scarcia, Rector of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church officiating. Interment will take place in Church Street Cemetery, Little Falls.
