Obituary of Joan E. Stallman

LITTLE FALLS - Joan E. Stallman, 74 of 522 Murphy Road, Little Falls and since a October of 2004 a resident of the Folts Home, Herkimer passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at that residence. She was born on October 2, 1932 in Salisbury the daughter of the late William J. and Mary R. (Owens) Arndt. She was a graduate of Dolgeville Highs School, class of 1949 She was united in marriage to her husband of 54 years Carl P. Stallman, Sr. on April 13, 1952 at the Christ Lutheran Church, Little Falls. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Little Falls. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Mrs. Stallman was employed at one time by the former Daniel Green Co., Dolgeville and later as a nurse's aide by the Van Allen Nursing Home, Little Falls. She was last employed is that same capacity for over 15 years by the Little Falls Hospital, retiring in 1996. She also at onetime assisted her husband in the operation of the former family dairy farm in the town of Salisbury. She is survived by her husband Carl P. Stallman, Sr., 4 sons Carl P. Stallman, Jr. and his wife Susan, Little Falls, Edward G. Stallman, Sr. and his wife Robin, Salisbury Center, Richard A. Stallman, Sr., Little Falls and David J. Stallman and his fiancé©e Janadene Maikranz, Dolgeville, a daughter Mary Zacek and her husband Mark, Little Falls, 18 grandchildren, Melissa Stallman and her fiancé© Dane Miller, Cassandra Wright and her husband Matthew, Nicole Stallman, Roxanne Williams and husband Burt, Edward J. Stallman, Jr. and friend Billi Jo Chmielewski, Justin Stallman and friend Danielle Palermo, Matthew Stallman, Richard A. Stallman, Jr., Marlena Murray and her husband Matthew, Dakota Stallman, Ryan Stallman, Taylor Stallman, Jonathan Stallman and friend Julie Barrett, Kimberly Stallman and friend Justin Grower, C.J. Maikranz, Connor Maikranz, Ethan Zacek and Tanner Zacek, 6 great grandchildren Ryanne and Julie Williams, Kyle Matthew and Chandler Murray and Jordan Stallman, dear friends Ken and Lorraine, Swartz, Dolgeville and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Mark David Stallman, a grandson Phillip Leslie Stallman, 4 brothers William, Elmer Raymond and Graydon Arndt and by 4 sisters Evelyn Madison, Anna Peet, Carol, Arndt and Esther Arndt. Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 16, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. from the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 512 E. Gansevoort St., Little Falls with the Rev. Carl Evans, Pastor officiating. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills in the spring. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. there are no calling hours. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Stallman be considered to the Folts Home Alzheimer's Unit, 104 N. Washington St., Herkimer, NY 13350. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to RN Carla Doolen and the of the Folts Home, third floor staff for their care and compassion shown to Mrs. Stallman and her family.
