Obituary of Joann R. Hotaling

LITTLE FALLS- Joann R. Hotaling, 75 of 558 East Monroe Street, Little Falls passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013 at St. Elizabeths Medical Center, Utica. She was born on July 23, 1937 in Little Falls the daughter of the late Leonard F. and Helen (Ganger) Miller. Mrs. Hotaling was a graduate of the Oppenheim High School class of 1955. Mrs. Hotaling was united in marriage to her husband of 29 years Carson W. Hotaling on July 16, 1983 at Christ Lutheran Church, Little Falls with the Rev. John Knarvik officiating. She was of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Hotaling also proud member of The International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Joann was employed be many companies through the Mohawk Valley beginning with Felt Shoe Company, St. Johnsville, Allegro Shoe Company, P&K Dress both in Little Falls, Herkimer Dress, Herkimer, she was a floor supervisor with Ace Glove Factory, Little Falls. She also owned and operated Joann Factory Outlet for several years in Little Falls and was a Nail Technician at Millies, Little Falls. She enjoyed selling Mary Kay products for many years. Mrs. Hotaling was a Certified Nurses Aide in 1969 at Little Falls Hospital. She is survived by her husband Carson, a son Edward Cooley and his wife Barbara, Little Falls, a daughter Deborah Youker and her fiancé© Stephen Shibley, Little Falls, a sister Marjorie Decker and her husband Richard, Little Falls, 4 grand children Ryan Cooley, Deanna Holdridge, Lowell Youker and his wife Ashley, Darryl Youker, a great grand child Caleigh Youker, several nieces and nephews and a beloved K-9 companion Buff. She was predeceased by 2 brothers Gerald and Leonard W. Miller. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 6:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Donald L. Dixon, Pastor Emeritus officiating. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills in the spring. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 5-6 pm and to attend the funeral services that follow.
