Obituary of Joelene G. George

MOHAWK Joelene G. George, 55 of McCready Road, Mohawk passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 1, 2013 at her residence. She has been in ill health for the past several years with Primary Lateral Sclerosis. She was born on November 29, 1957 in Herkimer the daughter of the late Francis L. and Daisy M. (Larkin) Young. She attended Herkimer High School. Joelene was united in marriage to her husband of 30 years Ronald M. George on June 27, 1982 in Saranac Lake, NY. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed tending to her large vegetable and flower gardens. Liking to keep herself busy she also enjoyed many arts and craft projects and crocheting. For a short time she was a volunteer an the Herkimer County Humane Society. Joelene was employed for several years by former LaSalle Laboratories, Little Falls. She is survived by her husband Ronald, her daughters Hope Ouderkirk and her husband Roger, Mohawk and Kim Brand and her husband Robert, Little Falls, 5 brothers Duane "Cy" Young (Barbara), Little Falls, Jack Young (Jeanette), Ilion, Darrel "Jim" Young (Patty), Little Falls, Neal Young, Herkimer and Francis "Patrick" Young, Mohawk, 8 sisters Phyllis Moffatt (Erney), Ohio, NY, Sharon Camardello (Angelo), Florida, Dale McCaw (Walt), Mohawk, Jill Young, Herkimer, Dawn Kucerak (Milan), Herkimer, Darlene Reynolds, Herkimer, Terry Kondratowicz, Mohawk and Ronnie Dauback (Frank), Herkimer, her beloved grandchildren Madison, Abigail and Olivia Brand and Dillan Ouderkirk and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 sisters Sherry Lynch and Cherese Young. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 11:00 am from the Holy Family Parish Church, Cor. Main & John St.s, Little Falls where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Lawless. Interment will take place in St. Marys Cemetery, Town of Herkimer at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. The family will gather privately prior to the funeral services, there are no public calling hours.
