Obituary of Joseph F. Turturo

UTICA Joseph F. Turturo, 44 of 1621 Bennett Street, Utica formerly of Little Falls passed away unexpectedly at his residence Thursday, December 4, 2008. He was born on March 6, 1964 in Little Falls the son of Laura (Saypack) Edmunds, Little Falls and Joseph F. Turturo, Little Falls. He was a graduate of Little Falls High School class of 1982. He was a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls. Mr. Turturo was a 10 year veteran of the US Navy serving during the Persian Gulf War. He entered the service on September 8, 1982 and served as a Mess Management Specialist at various bases in Florida and Mississippi and had several tours aboard the USS America. He was honorably discharged September 28, 1992. Following his discharge from the service he resided in the New Haven, Florida where he was active in the community as a member of the New Haven Volunteer Fire Dept. He returned to the local area in the mid 1990s. He is survived by his mother and step father Laura M. and Donald Curtiss Edmunds, Little Falls, his father and step mother Joseph F. and Carole Turturo, Little Falls 2 daughters Amanda Turturo, Altoona, FL and LeChelle Turturo and her husband Jason Bonaparte, Gulf Port MS, 3 brothers Anthony Edmunds and his wife Sherri, Clinch Port, VA, James Edmunds and his wife Sharon, Little Falls and Christopher Edmunds and Darcy Blanchard, Little Falls, a sister Treika Scarano and her husband Anthony, Little Falls, 2 granddaughters Natalie Turturo and Jasmine Bonaparte and many aunts, uncles cousins and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the spring of 2009. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls.
