Obituary of Judith A. Scheid

LITTLE FALLS Judith A. Scheid, 67 of 610 Garden Street, Little Falls passed away Friday, October 24, 2008 at Bassett Healthcare Center, Cooperstown. She was born on September 21, 1941 in Albany the daughter of the late Douglas O. and Elizabeth (Kudela) James. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School Class 1959 and attended the Mayer School of Fashion Design, New York City. She was united in marriage to her husband of 26 years Harry F. Scheid on March 8, 1982 in Lancaster, PA. Mrs. Scheid was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Little Falls. She was a volunteer for the American Heart Association and served at onetime as an election inspector for Little Falls. She also enjoyed working on needlecrafts. For several years she assisted her father in the operation of Dougs Drive In, Little Falls and later Dougs Busy Bee Restaurant, New Hartford. She is survived by her husband Harry, a son Louis Varricchio and his wife Melane, Tallassee, AL, 3 step sons Harry F. Scheid, II and his wife Alicia, Lititz, PA, Anthony Scheid and his wife Sharon, New Holland, PA and Perry Scheid and his wife Wendy, Lititz, PA, 4 daughters Margarita German and her husband William, Little Falls, Maria Huckby and her husband Mark, Thomaston, GA, Lisa Roth, Reinholds, PA and Brandi-Lynn LaPorta, Adamstown, MD, 2 step daughters Dr. Vicky Scheid-Long MD and her husband Jeffrey, West Grove, PA and Cindy Charles and her husband Duane, Mountville, PA, a brother Douglas F. James, Utica, an aunt Anna Chenette, Rensselaer, NY, 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 10:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, with the Deacon Joseph DeLorenzo, Little Falls officiating. Interment will take place in Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Little Falls. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Wednesday morning. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Scheid be considered to the Little Falls Public Library Summer Reading Program, 10 Waverly Place, Little Falls, NY 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
