Obituary of Karl P. Seifried

LITTLE FALLS Karl P. Seifried, 82 of 16 High Street, Little Falls passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Little Falls Hospital. He was born December 12, 1927 in Little Falls the son of the late Philip and Gertrud (Gambal) Seifried. He was a graduate of Little Falls High School class of 1946. Mr. Seifried was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the US Army. Entering the service on November 13, 1951. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal on October 28, 1953 and was the recipient of the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars. He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Little Falls, where he served at onetime as a Sunday School teacher and member of the church council. He was also a member of the American Legion Post # 31, Little Falls, the Little Falls German Maennechor and the former Little Falls Moose Lodge and enjoyed bowling and playing golf. Mr. Seifried was employed for many years as a typesetter for the Observer Dispatch, Utica until his retirement in 1989. He is survived by his sister Lena Dam, Little Falls, his nephew Philip Dam Maineville, Ohio and his grand nieces and nephew. His sister Hilda Seifried passed away earlier that same week on April 11, 2010. Graveside services for Karl and his sister Hilda will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the Church Street Cemetery, Little Falls with the Deacon Jay Berry of the Christ Lutheran Church officiating. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Seifried be considered to the Christ Lutheran Church, 14 Petrie St., Little Falls, NY 13365.
