Obituary of Kenneth Maurice Perry

OAK HARBOR, WA Kenneth Maurice Perry, 72 of Oak Harbor, WA passed away June 24, 2010 at St. Josephs Hospital, Bellingham, WA. He was born on April 27, 1938 in Malone, NY the son of the late Maurice and Anne Perry. He was a graduate of Poland Central Schools. He was united in marriage to his wife of 47 years the former Jean Marie Lynch on April 10, 1959 in Newport, NY. She predeceased him on September 14, 2006. Ken was a career veteran of the US Navy which brought the couple to Oak Harbor, WA in 1966, where he retired in 1976. After his retirement from the Navy Ken had two successful businesses in Oak Harbor; Jims Garage and Perrys Quality Plumbing. Ken and Jean raised a happy family and loved living there. Ken Loved the outdoors and had a passion for hunting and fishing. He also loved Labradors and was a scuba diver in his youth. Ken was gifted with his hands and was a true craftsman, but his greatest gift was his love and devotion to his wife and family. Ken is survived his son Wayne Perry, Ewa Beach, Hawaii, a granddaughter Jenn Molnar and her family Shaun and Alivia of Stanwood, WA, a grandson Jeff Perry and his family Monica and Abbey, Oak Harbor, WA, a sister Mary Hladun, Floyd, NY, 2 brothers Andy Perry, Cranston, RI and Raymond Perry, Tumberland, VA. Graveside memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills, NY with the Rev. Thomas Lawless, Little Falls officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the US Navy. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home Saturday morning at 9:30 am to follow in procession to the cemetery.
