Obituary of Kenneth R. Rockwell
LITTLE FALLS - Kenneth R. Rockwell, 89 of 1377 Davis Road, Little Falls passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 9, 2004 at Little Falls Hospital after being stricken at the family farm in the Town of Manheim.
He was born on August 9, 1915 in St. Johnsville the son of the late Elmer and Elizabeth (Kraft) Rockwell. He was educated in area rural schools.
He was united in marriage to his wife of 59 years the former Lucille E. Rice on June 4, 1939 at the First Baptist Church, Little Falls. Mrs. Rockwell predeceased him on July 30, 1998.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Little Falls as well as a member of the East Pond Fish & Game Club, Tupper Lake and the Shells Bush Grange. He was also an avid raccoon hunter.
Mr. Rockwell owned and operated dairy farms on the Shells Bush Road and in the Town of Manheim and was well known throughout the area as a cattle dealer. He was employed at onetime by the former Mohawk Valley commission Sales, Little Falls and was also employed by the Town of Manheim Highway Department for several years.
He is survived by his 2 sons Kenneth A. Rockwell, Little Falls and Larry R. Rockwell and his wife Sharon, Little Falls, a brother Clifford Rockwell, Little Falls and a brother in law Theodore Rice, Little Falls, 7 grandchildren Keith Rockwell, Satsuma, FL, Gregg Rockwell, Little Falls, Scott and Jeanne Rockwell, Little Falls, Kenni Lee and Bill Newkirk, Ilion, Dirk Rockwell, Stratford, Larry R. and Kara Rockwell, Jr., Little Falls and Stacy McCarthy and Randy, Little Falls, 16 great grandchildren Shawna, Reece, Kristin, Richard, Clayton, Bobbie, Steven, Madison, Tanner, Tucker, Sierra, Sydney, Cody, Kyle, Kendra and Noel and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother Elwyn Rockwell, who died in 2002.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 13, 2004 at 10:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Donald L. Dixon, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Little Falls officiating. Interment will take place in Mt. View Memorial Gardens, Town of Little Falls.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Sunday, December 12, 2004 from 3-6 pm and to attend the funeral services Monday morning.
