Obituary of Arthur J. Lamphere

WARREN - Arthur J. Lamphere, 80 of State Route 167, Town of Warren, P.O. Box 24, Jordanville, NY 13361 passed into the presence of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Wednesday, June 2, 2005 at his home. He was born January 22, 1925 in Fairfield the son of the late Frank and Flossie (Allen) Lamphere. He was educated in the Salisbury and Dolgeville schools. Mr. Lamphere was united in marriage to his wife of 60 years the former Ethel L. Williams on March 10, 1945 at the Dolgeville United Methodist Church parsonage. Mr. Lamphere was a dairy farmer. He operated farms in Middleville, Dolgeville and purchased the former Henry Swartz farm in the Town of Warren in 1967. He is survived by his wife Ethel, a son Barry Lamphere and his wife Linda, Salisbury, 3 daughters Sharon Tibbitts, Little Falls, Shirley Ferris, Glenfield, Pamela Lamphere, Richfield Springs, 3 brothers Emerson Lamphere and his wife Esther, Richfield Springs, Franklin Lamphere and his wife Dorothy, Fairfield, Glen Lamphere and his wife Jean, Salisbury, 2 sisters Margaret Williams, Mohawk, Isabelle Lee, Dolgeville, 2 sisters-in-law Betty Lamphere, Poland and Dorothy Daley, Salisbury, 11 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson Jason Lamphere, who died on June 7, 1992, 3 brothers Jay Lamphere, Who died on May 16, 1988, Eugene Lamphere, who died on July 30, 1997 and William Daley, who died on September 30, 2001, a sister Edith Johnson, who died on August 25, 1986, a son in law Gary M. Tibbitts, who died on July 29, 2003 Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at 6:00 pm from the Lighthouse Baptist Church, State Route 29A, Stratford with the Rev. Martin Smith officiating. Interment will take place in Stratford Cemetery, Town of Stratford. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Lighthouse Baptist Church from 4-6 pm and to attend the funeral services to follow. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. In lieu of flowers it is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Lamphere be considered to the Utica Rescue Mission, 201 Rutger Street, Utica, NY. 13501 Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
