Obituary of Laura Ackerman Shwiler
LITTLE FALLS - Laura Ackerman Shwiler, 91 formerly of Little Falls and since January of 2003 a resident of Massachusetts passed away Saturday, November 13, 2004 at the Berkshire Medical Center, Pittsfield, MA.
She was born on October 17, 1913 in Amsterdam the daughter of the late Evelyn and Mary (Holmes) Barker.
She was united in marriage to Earl K. Ackerman on June 8, 1935 in Amsterdam. Mr. Ackerman predeceased her on October 24, 1974. On June 17, 1987 she was united in marriage to Roy E. Shwiler at St. Mary's Church, Little Falls. Mr. Shwiler predeceased her on February 13, 1988.
She is the beloved mother of Marlene A. Warwick, Baldwinsville, NY, Laura Lee Palmer of Pittsfield, MA, Douglas A. Ackerman, Lee, MA and Gordon D. Ackerman, Little Falls. Her greatest joy and happiness in life was her family and she was blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Her grandchildren are William Warwick, Liverpool, NY, Laura Boutwell, Baldwinsville, NY, Pamela Gingsburg, Baldwinsville, NY, Bruce Warwick, Green Bay, WI, Todd Warwick, Lithia, FL, Kim Bowman, Herkimer, NY, Sherry Collins, Little Falls, NY, Jeff Ackerman, Nashville, TN, Kurt Ackerman, Little Falls, NY, Chad Ackerman, Cookeville, TN, Tracey Hemsley, Greensboro, NC, Erika Park, Los Angeles, CA, Toby Dye, Rochester, NY, Lance Palmer, Pittsfield, MA, Byron Ackerman and Ben Ackerman, both of Little Falls, NY. Her great grandchildren are Billy, Ladd, Paul, Eric, Amanda, Kali, Sarah, Brooke, Michaela, Anna, TJ, Alex, Joseph, Jessica, Carrie, Katie, Sierra, Samantha, Rachael, Christopher, Ruby, Colin and Caroline, her great great grandson is James. She was predeceased by her son James H. Ackerman, who died on June 19, 2002.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at 10:30 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Dr. Steven A. Scarcia, Rector of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls officiating. Interment will take place in Mt. View Memorial Gardens, Town of Little Falls.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Wednesday morning.
