Obituary of Leola M. Marino
STRATFORD Leola M. Marino, 99 of Oak Mt. Drive, Stratford passed away Monday, January 18, 2010 at the Wells Nursing Home, Johnstown where she had been a resident since June of 2009.
She was born on February 7, 1910 in Newport, NY the daughter of the late Grove and Mabel (Lindsay) Morey. She was educated in Newport Schools.
She was united in marriage to her husband of 64 years Joseph Marino in 1937. He predeceased her on June 13, 2001.
Mrs. Marino was a homemaker, and worked as a domestic in homes and business in the Smyrna, NY area as well as assisting her husband in the operation of their business Marinos Restaurant in Smyrna for 42 years until their retirement. She had resided in Smyrna most of her life, moving to Little Falls to resided with her brother Dean in 2001 until his passing in 2008 when she relocated to the home of her niece Mardean Euron in Stratford.
She was an avid horse rider for many years and enjoyed tending to their care.
She is survived by her foster daughter Bonnie Marston Noble and her husband Robert, Verona, 2 nieces Mardean Euron and her husband Fred, Stratford and Dawn Pinkley and her husband John Fredericktown, MO, Bonnie and Bobs children Jennifer Noble and Christopher Noble who were her only grandchildren and several grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers Kenneth Morey in 1991, and Dean L. Morey in 2008 and by her sister Doris Maxwell in 1989.
Graveside services will be held in the spring in West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne, NY.
Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours.
