Obituary of Lucille A. Roy
LITTLE FALLS Lucille A. Roy, 81 of 29 Furnace Street, Little Falls passed away Friday, June 22, 2012 at St. Elizabeths Medical Center, Utica where the angels came and carried her with their wings to give her rest in the arms of God after a brief illness, with all of her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Ted and mother of Marsha, Mark, Margo, Marty and Scott.
She was born on August 8, 1930 in Bern, NY the daughter of the late William and Florence (Stanley) Richardson and was educated in Middleville schools.
She was united in marriage to her husband of 61 years Theodore J. Roy on June 30, 1951 at the Sacred Heart Church, Little Falls.
She was a member of the Holy Family Parish Church, Little Falls and served as a Eucharistic Minister for ten years at the former Sacred Heart Church, Little Falls until its closing.. She was also a member of the Little Falls American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Polish Community Home, Little Falls and the Dolgeville Rod & Gun Club.
Mrs. Roy was employed as a sewing machine operator for various dress shops in the area including former Gilberts and P&K Dress Shops, Little Falls. She retired from that same capacity from the former Focus Dress Shop, Mohawk.
Following her retirement Mrs. Roy was quite proud that she was then able to obtain her High School Diploma from Herkimer and then continue her education to become a Certified Nurses Aide (CNA) where she was employed for a brief time at the former Van Allens Nursing Home, Little Falls.
She is survived by her husband Theodore, her three sons Mark Roy, wife, (Ann), Marty Roy, wife, (Missy) and Scott Roy, wife (Tina) all of Little Falls, her two daughters Marsha Poore husband, (Richard) Leesport, PA and Margo Quatrino, husband, (Dennis), Little Falls, her brother Russell Richardson, Pahrump, NV and her sister Veronica Bannon, husband, (Gene), Little Falls, thirteen grandchildren Alan Poore, Rebecca Yarosz, Matthew Poore, Katie Poore, Andrea Roy, Stephen Roy, Joseph Roy, Jessica Wilkes, Justin Quatrino, Adam Roy, Nicole Roy, Gerrig Roy "Grandmas inspiration" and Miranda Roy "Grandmas Little Angel", eleven great grandchildren Jayden, Alea, Emily, Aric, Hannah, Zoe, Olivia, Mia, Juliet, Claire and Riyah. She was predeceased by three bothers William Richardson age 18m, William Richardson age 12yrs and Cecil Richardson.
Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours.
