Obituary of M. Robert (Mouse) Feldman

PORT ORANGE, FL M. Robert (Mouse) Feldman, 89 formerly of Little Falls and for the past several years a resident of Port Orange, Florida, passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 23, 2008 at his residence. He was born in Little Falls the son of the late Mannie and Beaulah (Strauss) Feldman. He was a graduate of Little Falls High School. Mr. Feldman was united in marriage to the former Shirley J. Rose, who predeceased him in June of 1951. He was again united in marriage to his wife of 21 years the former Mildred Carey on October 12, 1963 at the First Presbyterian Church in Metuchen, NJ. Mrs. Feldman predeceased him on August 23, 1984. He was an over 60 year member of the Elks Lodge # 42 BPOE, Little Falls and was a former member of the Little Falls Rotary Club. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the US Army. He entered the service on April 6, 1942 in Little Falls. He served with Headquarters Co. of the 8th Armored Infantry Battalion, in the European Theater under Gen. Omar Bradley. He was honorably discharged on December 13, 1945 at Camp Cooke, Calif. Mr. Feldman along with went into to business with his father and brother Arthur in the operation of B. Feldman & Sons, Inc. Furniture Store on Albany Street, Little Falls where he remained active in the business for 39 years until his retirement in 1980. In 1952 Mr. Feldman and his brother built and operated the first radio station in Little Falls and all of Herkimer County, WLFH. He is survived by a son David B. Feldman, Rome, 2 daughters Pamela D. Feldman and her friend Ed Rocker, Norwich and Cynthia Freeman-Kimbrell, Anderson, SC, 2 grandchildren Carey Morse and husband Eric, Middleville and Aaron Kimbrell, Anderson, SC, 4 great grandchildren Jessy Petrone, Maria Morse, Erica Morse all of Middleville and Maureen Kimbrell, Frankfort, a sister in law Rhoda Feldman, San Francisco and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Arthur S. Feldman on August 1, 2006. Memorial services for M. Robert (Mouse) Feldman,will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 11:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Dr. Steven A. Scarcia officiating. Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Town of Little Falls. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Saturday, July 19, 2008 from 9-11 am and to attend the services follow In lieu of flowers it is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Feldman be considered to the Herkimer Area Resource Center (HARC), PO Box 271, Herkimer, NY 13350.
