Obituary of Madelyn J. Lawrence
Dolgeville- Madelyn J. Lawrence, 75 of 4 East Faville Ave., Dolgeville passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at her residence.
She was born on October 15, 1936 in Town of Salisbury, NY the daughter of the late Carl and Reva (Darling) Barnes. Mrs. Lawrence was a graduate of Dolgeville High School class of 1955.
On June 30, 1956 she was united in marriage to her husband of 18 years Cletus L. Lawrence in Salisbury, NY. Mr. Lawrence predeceased her on January 9, 1974. She then met her loving and devoted companion of over 30 years Alkie R. Hinton. Mr. Hinton passed away on February 7, 2012.
Mrs. Lawrence was employed for 18 years as a inspector at Rawlings Sporting Goods , Dolgeville. After she retired from Rawlings in 1995 she managed Alkies Vacuum Service Center, in Shoppers Square, Little Falls for 15 years, when Alkie and her both retired in 2010.
She is survived by her sons Thomas Lawrence and his wife Brenda and their son Darrin, Little Falls, NY and Gregory Lawrence and his daughters Danielle and Alyssa, New Hartford, NY, her sister Marilyn J. Juba and her companion Paul Louis, Middleville, NY, her brother Reginald H. Barnes and his wife Lillian, Salisbury Center, NY, a sister in law Patti Barnes, Salisbury, NY and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Paul C. Barnes, Sr. and Leland P. Barnes, Sr.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 1:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Joseph Chamberlain, Pastor of the First Assembly of God Church, Little Falls officiating, Interment will take place in Salisbury Rural Cemetery, Town of Salisbury in the spring.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Saturday, February 25, 2012 from 11-1 pm and to attend the funeral services to follow.
